A Little Herstory...
The 19th Amendment of the United States, giving women the right to vote was passed by Congress in June of 1919 and ratified more than a year later in August of 1920. Yet, even though the amendment entitled all women (over 21) to vote, state and local legislation often created barriers for women of color. The problem still exists in some areas today where district boundaries are moved and voting laws manipulated or restricted. We must achieve voting access for all!
