Mother's Day Post: What I Recognize Now

am grateful I was given a choice.

When I was young, I went to Sunday School every week. I participated in Christmas plays, attended Bible lessons after school at the Good News Club mobile classroom, attended Bible camp in the summer if something was happening locally, and hung out (a lot) at my best friend's church because her mom worked there. I had a beautiful Bible that had gold on the edges of the pages, and I documented birth and death dates in a section that was designed for such activity. The stained glass in the main sanctuary of our church was exquisite and a memory I cherish.

When I turned 12, I was given a choice to be baptized. While most of the kids who attended church alongside me went for it, I decided against it. Jesus inspired me (and still does), but I didn't feel the teachings reflected what he was saying. The whole thing was lacking—lacking in something truly significant for me, something I detected as not quite right even as a small child.

It lacked the respect of the Feminine balance and the importance of it—something that all in the Universe requires for optimal function.

Even the Creation story sets the stage for society to distrust and devalue the Feminine. How does this inspire a little girl? How does this make the world a better place? I didn't and don't buy it.

I am of the Feminine.

I was baptized into this world through the amniotic waters of my mother, blessed by the seed of my father.

Creator/Creation got it right the first time (of course). But then manmade religions came along and manipulated the design to favor the Masculine over the Feminine. What I did not consciously know then but recognize now is that I refused to override the perfect balance of Original Design with baptism into Patriarchy, the most dangerous imbalance our world has known.

I walk the path of the powerful Divine Feminine, the only equalizing energy that can heal this world.

I represent.

And you do too. Whatever gender you are, you were born equipped to keep the world healthy and safe by utilizing the balancing energies of the Masculine and Feminine. It's not to late to reclaim this superpower.

Happy Mother's Day! It's a day to honor and recognize the vital importance of the Feminine.

Many "womb wisdom" teachers compare the female cycle month to the 4 seasons. I seem to be the only one who compares the bleeding, or resting time, to Autumn.
